The perigon process

One process. A thousand possibilities.

With our patented process, individual designs can be applied to a wide range of 3D objects. The process is even suitable for complex shapes and challenging materials such as ceramics, glass and metal, and for plastic injection-moulded parts. We show you how it works here.

Our process uses dye-diffusion technology. The required design is first printed on a film and then transferred from the film to the product in a special oven.

The Perigon process – step by step

1. The preparation
Depending on the material, some products may need pretreatment. Special coatings improve the adhesion of the inks and protect plastic or rubber parts from deformation.

2. Printing of the film
The required design is printed onto a thermoformable film using special water-based ink.

3. Into the oven
The printed film is secured over the object in a vacuum oven. As the oven temperature rises, the film becomes soft and flexible.

4. A vacuum is created
A vacuum is created in the oven, sucking the film around the object and enveloping it like a second skin.

5. Diffusion begins
The special ink vaporises and is transferred from the film into the amorphous structure of the substrate.
